I just made those flags have seven stripes instead of six and made them fluffy like their original animals!

I know I’ve been doing a lot of fox/swan/stag content lately but I really wanted to redesign these again just in a way that stands out from the originals nonbinary-culture made, so I made one more version, just for fun!

Definitions

Swan = a nonbinary person who queers and subverts femininity in a distinct nonbinary way while rejecting cisnormative ideas of what it means to be feminine and rejecting binary concepts of gender

Fox = a nonbinary person who presents themselves outside the gender binary, and rejects binary concepts of gender presentation

Stag = a nonbinary person who queers and subverts masculinity in a distinctly nonbinary way while rejecting cisnormative ideas of what masculinity means and rejecting binary concepts of gender

Intersectionality is something that, sadly, is often pushed to the side in Arcane discussions, specifically from a certain side of that fandom. They will go on and on about Viktor, as they usually do, talking about how he suffers from classicism and ableism within the show and fandom respectively (as they should as these are issues, but there is a catch when it comes to these fans as well), but when others in the fandom, especially Mel or even Sky fans, point out the racism and misogyny (misogynoir) that is often rampant in this fandom, particularly from said fans mentioned prior, all of a sudden its not possible or being overdramatized. Like they suddenly can't understand how some of their rhetoric includes or invites the same thing black fans have been calling out since the beginning, because how can you discuss the ableism and such that Viktor faces, but laugh or joke around with people who call Mel slurs or just denounce her to a trope? I thought you were for calling out forms of hate within fandom, or does your "activism" only stretch so far? And back to a previous statement, about the catch regarding those particularly fans----some of them regurgitate the same harmful rhetoric towards Viktor that they say they supposedly hate, just in mode subtle ways. How are you going to say you hate when Viktor is infantilized, but will be quick to forget he's a grown man who can defend himself (often when trying to pair him against Mel, framing her as the aggressor, and sometimes even Jayce too but to a lesser degree)? Not saying Jayce doesn't get equal amounts of hate, but his more so gets pushed aside along with his character to ultimately frame Viktor in higher regard, often making him ooc. It's like they pick and choose when the issues are prevalent, and when they aren't, and it's so frustrating.

The stage was always Luka’s world, and everyone else was just living in it.

Luka’s first round in the 50th Alien Stage competition was the fourth round, but really it should have been the second given the predetermined matchups. The Segyein were saving his round for later in order to excite the in-universe audience to the previous winner’s grand return.

Luka being set up to go against either Mizi or Sua was absolutely intentional; the Segyein knew whoever came out of Round One would be an easy target for Luka’s manipulation, which, in their eyes, would make for a good show. When organizing the rounds, it seems like the Segyein try to go for which setups will elicit the biggest emotional responses out of the contestants. They clearly already knew about Mizi and Sua’s intimate relationship with the fact that the contestants’ profiles are most likely created by the Segyein with little to no input from the humans themselves (probably made with the help of the ever-present camera flowers in Anakt).

This would also explain why Sua and Ivan were so certain about Mizi going up against Sua in the competition despite them not being told about the round matches yet.

(Take this with a grain of salt because it is possible they were already told who was against whom before this comic, but given how young they look, I'm thinking that it's probably too early for them to know.)

If Luka weren’t in this year’s tournament, they would have probably set Till up against Mizi in Round 5 instead since the Segyein are aware of how much she means to Till. They technically could have still done that with Luka in the competition and had Round 6 be him vs. Ivan, but they most likely didn’t want to save Luka’s signature act until the final round, which the Segyein would have believed themselves to be doing given how they don’t seem to know how important Till is to Ivan (probably intentionally on Ivan's part).

Note: While I think the character profiles were probably made by the Segyein, I don't think the intimacy levels from the artbook are. I'm showing Till's intimacy level for Ivan to highlight his comment about the teachers not believing him when he says that Ivan is constantly following him around.

The Segyein knew the two were friends at least, but that seems about it. Maybe that was enough for them to be a possible sixth round setup if they came out of 2 and 3 victorious, but given the vast potential there was for Luka vs. Ivan after a Mizi vs. Till round, I don't think the Segyein knew the depths of Ivan and Till's relationship and therefore didn't care until it became blatantly obvious after the canon Round 6 and could be capitalized upon for the finale.

From a meta perspective, an Ivantill round was obvious, but my personal opinion is that in-universe I think that matchup was more akin to a happy little accident on the Segyein's part.

This is also all ignoring the huge elephant in the room, which is the Rebellion throwing a wrench into the competition.

I think the biggest change in the direction of the competition (not the results of the rounds but in how the rounds themselves were organized) due to the rebellion was how the Segyein decided to have the finale be mere hours after Round 6. If the fifth round hadn’t been interrupted, I think that the sixth would have been performed right after, like how the first four rounds were. Also, I don’t think they would have tried to aid Luka in his manipulation by throwing up pictures of Ivan on the screens and would have just left him to his own devices like in Round 5. But the Segyein wanted to lure the rebels out to save Till, so basically flashing a big sign that says, "THIS GUY IS MESSED UP FROM THE LAST ROUND AND WILL DIE IF YOU DON'T DO SOMETHING" was probably the best way to do it.

This is all to say that I think it's a lot more interesting if Luka was being set up to be the winner the entire time. Obviously he still had to work for it, but I like the idea that almost everything was set up in his favor; he just had to take advantage of it. The Segyein wanted a good show, and Luka knows how to perform. He did not disappoint them.

Wasn't sure if I should post it but last night's dream was WILD. Super fucking weird but also fun and pretty neat of an idea for an AU of the boys.

Fucker even went from actual start to finish smoothly, like a goddamn movie. It was one of those POV type of dreams (my favorite if I'm being honest). Meaning I was the OC, not watching the OC. Gods, if only lol.

Also I think my going through my notes last night before bed fueled this. Lol I should do this more often.

It was a fun dream but really sexual, like a lot sexual which sure, ok but at the same time that was weird. Anyway, it started with an accident, like a car crash (those scare me a bit tbh), there's cops everywhere, ambulances, fire and rescue and a bunch of other people. Despite the chaos all I can hear is heavy breathing, the type of heavy breathing you do when you're about to cry your soul out. Jela (I have his pov so all I see is from his pov, so instead of saying me or I I'll just refer to him so it makes sense) is sitting in one of the ambulances but I don't feel like he's grown here. Feels more like a teenager.

He's looking at the car as paramedics pull someone out of the car and as soon as they pull them out of the car they put them in a stretcher and cover them from head to toe and Jela starts crying. Ingvarr shows up and is freaking out as he walks past the car and sees Jela sitting in the ambulance and runs to him. He starts hugging him and crying and then is when he notices his right arm in a sling, gnarly looking gash from his chin to his left cheek and bruises everywhere.

Angelus's grandmother, Katherine, and one of his uncles, Chris, show up and see the wreckage and a body on a stretcher so Katherine runs up and pulls the cover and it's Angelus.

Neither she or Chris cry or freak out. They get visibly mad and look around and see Jelani and run towards him yelling not so very cute phrases and shit at him. Ingvarr gets in front of him to block him from Katherine and Chris who are just raging but you can tell it wasn't coming from a place of care. Honestly, it felt more like they were mad the family dog pissed on their expensive alpaca rug which checks out if you know Angelus's history with his abusers.

So while Jelani's in the hospital Katherine is making moves and talking about pressing charges and trying to get him arrested for "killing her grandson" even though it was an accident. Dream never really covered how it happened so I don't know, you fill in the blank however you want.

She starts mounting all this fucked up "evidence" trying to sabotage his character. I know there's like a legal term for that but I forgot. She went nuts with it. How Jelani's in some Satanic cult (given what he listens to and way he dresses), throws out xenophobic shit because of course she does, saying people in Norway drive different from people in the U.S. and just because he got the learner's permit in Norway doesn't mean he qualified for it in Maine. Was prone to listening to "devil worshipping" music really loudly while driving, was problematic and a trouble in school and everywhere else. Bunch of baseless shit. Was often doing drugs and drinking and he "corrupted" her grandson and turned him gay.

Somehow some strings were pulled and he did a year in juvie. Meanwhile his parents were fighting it and Jelani had fallen into a pretty bad depression. He checked out, he didn't give a shit about what happened to him. At all. He stopped eating to the point where he was force fed, he was cutting himself up (which was something I would've preferred the dream skip over or just have it mentioned, I seriously didn't need to see that from his pov) and was a suicide risk.

After he got out he was messed the fuck up. It was an accident but he blamed himself for it. He was in and out of doctor appointments and counseling but nothing helped and eventually he turned violent. Fell in with the wrong crowd, started staying out for days and nights on end, actually drinking heavily and ignoring school and family.

He got caught when he beat some other kid almost to death but instead of juvie again (not sure if at 17 it would be juvie or actual jail) Katherine made arrangements for him to be thrown into a psychiatric hospital. She really wanted to fuck him up, I guess.

There he meets Trevor and Loke (apparently Jela was an only child in this weird ass dream and it feels fucking weird). Trev and Lo had been there the longest and they took a liking to Jelani even though all he wanted was to be left alone.

The head psychiatrist there was none other than The Halo, which blew my fucking mind. She's a chemist, not a psychiatrist but then again dreams aren't supposed to make sense. Remember that I said the dream was really sexual? Yeah, apparently all Jela would dream of was the last time he and Angelus fucked. On top of that Trevor and Loke would constantly fuck Jelani.

Because of Trev and Lo Jela starts to come out of his shell little by little though he's still adamant on killing himself. That's like his end goal ever since Angelus was killed in that car accident .

Here's the thing tho. Ever since he arrived at that place he heard rumors of experiments on patients, particularly the more violent ones which Jela fit the bill for as well as Trevor and Loke. Dream didn't specify why Trev was in there but Lo was in there for murder.

The dream gets a little choppy here with flashes of scenes of the boys investigating shit and kinda getting close to an answer.

Dream then fasts forward a little bit and the hospital is fucked up, there small fires in some rooms and areas, blood on the walls, dead orderlies and guards and Jela's just staring into a mirror and crying his eyes out while holding a knife up to his neck. He presses down and slices his throat open but as the knife cuts it instantly heals without so much as leaving a scar. Again, not something I needed to see but not like I could control it. He kept doing it over and over in the hopes it would work but Loke and Trevor tell him it's useless, grab him and make their way out before the cops get there. As they leave they see The Halo up in her office smiling.

As the three of them are running away some other teenager joins them saying the experiments were true. The most violent patients were given some type of serum that pretty much turned them immortal to any and all damage and were let loose to wreak havok and destroy all.

((lol that's sort of the plot of The Halo Virus story but instead of psychiatric patients it's divinity infected with a bio weapon.))

So Jela's crying, saying it wasn't fair and that he wants to die, meanwhile Trevor and Loke are practically dragging him out of the building and the city around them is practically burning.

anyway, if anyone else here shares the passion for retrogames glitches i have, there's now a tool-assisted S3&K speedrun that corrupts the lock-on flag in the middle of the run and makes the game think it's only S&K, skipping half of the Sonic 3 stages. The creators have a full explanation here and it doesn't seem doable for humans sadly, but I'd love to be proved wrong it would be so funny to see this in a marathon

The way the writers retconned Silas being the creator of the immortality spell failed hilariously.

Clearly, she was the better witch of the two, using traditional magic btw to steal her spell for him and Amara.

Hell, witch!Silas even used the Solar boundary spell she taught him to trap her and Sefan in the cabin.

Only thing I can attribute to him is him teaching Bonnie Expression, but I wonder if he’s actually used it himself (because it is the most powerful form of witchraft using only your will) during his time or if someone else he knew.

Design refresh!!

These are pretty old characters and are also side characters in Nightlight. They are adoptive sisters. Womlippa (right) would do anything to help her sister and Opilist (left) is currently ill and doesn't go out much.

I'm currently resetting Nightlight as it stagnated due to a lot of issues it was facing.
